Social Media Account Executive
We're looking for someone confident and personable on camera, who loves talking to clients as much as they love great social media content. You'll run demo calls with prospective clients, support our clients on Zoom, and help deliver our paid social service.
Room to shape the job, and the business
Step Social is a fast-growing UK social media marketing agency. We create and manage organic social media content and Meta ad campaigns for a growing base of UK and US businesses. We're a small, close-knit remote team, not a big agency. If you want to grow with a business rather than be a small cog in a large one, you'll fit right in.
You work directly with the founder
You get a real say in how we do things
You see the impact of your work straight away
What you'll be doing
Most of your day is spent talking to clients and prospects on camera. The rest is hands-on work that makes their social media perform.
Demo calls with prospective clients
Running demo calls on Zoom with business owners who are interested in working with us, showing them what we do and helping them choose the right plan.
Client calls
Kick-off calls with new clients, support calls, and content and strategy conversations, including technical help such as connecting their profiles to our scheduling platform.
Paid social
Setting up, running and optimising Meta lead ad campaigns for our clients, with full training and support from us.
Content in Canva
Creating ad creatives and social content in Canva, and stepping in to produce or amend content when needed.
Growing with the business
Helping us launch and deliver new services as we grow, and supporting the wider team and clients across the operation.
What we're looking for
The things you need to have, and the things that will make you stand out.
Essential
- Confident, well-spoken and personable on camera, and comfortable leading Zoom calls with business owners
- 2 to 3 years' experience in social media for businesses, ideally client-facing, whether agency, in-house or freelance
- A clear understanding of the difference between organic and paid social content
- Good judgement on where AI is and isn't appropriate in content, always putting the client's preferences first
- An understanding of how content differs for UK and US businesses, from spelling and tone to dates, currency and cultural references
- Confident in Canva
- UK-based
Also important
- Comfortable picking up new tools and platforms quickly
- Organised, and able to balance a busy calendar of calls with hands-on work
- Eager to learn, proactive, and a real team player
A bonus, not a must: hands-on experience with Meta Ads Manager or paid social campaigns, which is not required because we provide full training, or any sales or account management experience.
The kind of person who thrives here
Skills can be taught. Attitude can't, so this part matters as much as the list above.
- Confident and upbeat, and puts people at ease on a call
- Enthusiastic, and genuinely keen to grow with the business
- A good listener who picks things up quickly
- Takes feedback well, and acts on it
- Spots better ways of doing things, and says so
- Reliable: when you say it'll be done, it gets done
- Happy to help out across the business, not just in one lane
In short: we want an A-player, not a pair of hands. If you're confident with people, love great content and want to help shape a growing business, this is the right job.

How to apply
Everything goes through the form below. Three things to have ready before you start.
A short video, 60 to 90 seconds
This role is on camera every day, so this is your chance to show us how you come across. Introduce yourself, then pitch to a small business owner as if you were on a demo call with them: why should they use a social media management service? Upload it to Google Drive, Dropbox or WeTransfer and have the link ready, with sharing turned on.
A link to your portfolio
Showing social media content, and any paid campaigns, you've worked on for businesses. Please make sure it is viewable.
Your answers to three questions
- How many years have you worked in social media for businesses, and how much of that has been client-facing?
- What's the difference between creating content for organic social and for paid ads?
- What appeals to you about this role, and what are you most keen to learn or grow into?
Applications close 5pm, Friday 2 October 2026. We read them as they come in and will be in touch with everyone who applies. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview on Zoom.
